Movie Monday: Travel Bug Curing Movies

Today's post is dedicated to anyone who gets a serious travel bug. Here at the office, we're constantly talking about and planning where we want to head next. To keep my sanity whenever I feel this way, I'll eat some Indian food, listen to some French music, and watch the movies listed below. (Note: movies are not listed in any order. You wouldn't list your children by favorites because you love them all equally right?)

1. Midnight in Paris (2011)
This film is truly one of my favorites. I've probably watched this movie 20 times since it was recommended to me by a teacher a few years back. It ties together all of the history and literature and art that Paris is known for in a really amusing way. And don't let the trailer fool you, there's a lot more to the story than an annoying pseudointellectual. Awesome cast, dreamy aesthetic, nice soundtrack.

2. LION (2016)
Warning: DO NOT WATCH THIS FILM IN PUBLIC. Unless you are cool with people seeing you cry like a baby. If you're a guy reading this and think "No I'm good I'm a man I don't need to listen to you", take it from my boy Chris Burkard, legendary adventure photographer.
An incredible true story about a young boy lost in India, and how he eventually gets back to his family. The cinematography is BEAUTIFUL, and the cast is brilliant. You'll be thinking about this one long after you watch it, I promise.

3. Eat, Pray, Love (2010)
Following the journey of a woman in an attempt to do some soul searching, this movie definitely cures (or ignites) the travel bug. The characters she meets in her travels are super lovable, and the scenery is ridiculous. I ate a lot of pizza after watching this.

4. The Darjeeling Limited (2007)
If you like beautifully positioned shots, very dry humor, and Owen Wilson, this film is for you. A funny and emotional film about trying to reforge family bonds while traveling across India. It's a Wes Anderson film so take what you will from that.

I saved the best for last, but I bet most you can already guess what movie I picked as my favorite on the list. Prepare for my rant.

5. The Secret Life of Walter Mitty (2013)
YOU GUYS. THIS MOVIE. Ben Stiller's performance is unbelievable, and nothing will make you want to book a plane ticket right here right now than this film will. The soundtrack is one of the best I've ever heard, the cinematography is some of the most well crafted I've ever seen, and honestly, I got emotional rewatching the trailer for this. THIS IS A 10/10 RECOMMENDATION, PEOPLE. Don't take it lightly.

Honorable Mentions: 180 Degrees South, Everest, and Forrest Gump. Let us know which ones you guys love!!
