Mulled Cider Recipe

We've been working from home and have been pretty damn good at keeping things cozy. This cider recipe is no exception. We found it here, tried it, and it was bomb so we're sharing it with you. It's freaking easy (AKA you just throw it all in and let it cook and make your house smell amazing), and it tastes like a fall afternoon coming back from the book fair circa 2004. All credit to the wonderful lady Krista who originally created this masterpiece.

What You'll Need:

  • 1 gallon unfiltered apple juice or apple cider
  • 1 large orange, cut into 1/4” slices
  • 3 cinnamon sticks
  • 4 star anise
  • 1 tablespoon whole cloves
  • 1 tablespoon whole allspice
  • 1” ginger root, sliced (we used frozen ginger from Trader Joe's)
  • 1 1/2 cups spiced rum (if you want it to be spiked)

What You'll Do:

Slice the oranges and throw everything except the rum into your pot. Bring it to a boil, and then let it simmer for 2-3 hours. Add the rum at the last ten minutes and serve!

Hope you love this recipe as much as we did and happy fall!
