Essentials For At Home Hustlin'

School is almost back in session, except this year it might look a little different. With Covid-19 hitting, you may be doing a lot more work and school from home. But have no fear, we have a list of tips and essentials that have helped us through these hectic months.

1. Start your day off right.

We've found that the best way to get your day started when stuck at home is to act like you're not. Get out of bed at a decent time, shower, get dressed (even if it's into a fresh pair of sweats), and get a solid breakfast.

2. Make your space somewhere you can kick it all day.

Light a candle, blast some tunes (or some white noise if that's your thing) and get comfy. Bonus points if you bring some plants into your workspace, studies show they increase productivity by up to 15%. We like THIS scent and THIS chair massager if you're really looking to up your comfort level.

For ultimate convenience and a peaceful work environment anywhere, noise-canceling headphones will be your best friend. We like this pair

3. Chunk up your work time/take breaks.

Nothing worse than staring at a screen for hours on end. Work for thirty minutes, take a five-minute break. Work for an hour, take a 10-minute break. Take a walk, get a snack, have a mini dance party. Also, make sure to eat lunch away from your desk, and DEFINITELY DON'T work in your bed! A tried and true tip is to train your brain to only associate your bed with sleep, so when it's finally time to hit the hay, your body will know and respond accordingly! Whatever you wanna do, we support you.

4. Stay healthy.

Get at least 6-8 hours of sleep and drink half of your body weight of water in ounces. You'll be ready to take on anything. Drink your caffeine around 1 or 2 pm instead of first thing in the morning to avoid hitting an after-lunch slump and increase productivity. We love THIS water bottle for keeping on top of your daily water intake. It doesn't hurt either to keep stocked up on hand sanitizer, and this one is our favorite.

5. Get the right gear.

Be ready for anything with a bag that's perfect for running last-minute errands like our new Crossbody Bag. We also love getting a new car air freshener because when the farthest you're going during a pandemic is the grocery store, at least your car can smell like an island.

Hope this helps you stay on track over the next couple of months while the world (hopefully) gets back to normal! Stay safe and healthy. xx, the Thread Team.
