Last week, our team walked down the street to meet up with our neighbors at Encircle. Encircle is a rad organization dedicated to supporting the LGBTQ+ community. We love Encircle here at Thread which is why we will be donating our sales on Friday to them! Stay tuned 👀
Check out this interview we did with Encircle!
Can you tell us a little more about what Encircle is and what you do?
Encircle is a non-profit created with the goal of uniting families and communities to enable LGBTQ+ youth to thrive. We are dedicated to bringing life-affirming therapy, programming, and services to LGBTQ+ youth, families, and communities.
Can you tell us more about your 8 million dollar goal?
Encircle saw there was an immense need to bring our services to LGBTQ+ youth in Nevada, Arizona, and Idaho. Apple and CEO Tim Cook, Qualtrics founder and Utah Jazz owners Ryan and Ashley Smith, and Imagine Dragons’ Dan Reynolds and his wife Aja Volkman shared their commitment to the goal of Encircle’s expansion beyond Utah. Together, we are bringing Encircle to new communities to provide programs, mental health services, support groups, and safe spaces to young LGBTQ+ people and their families. Our goal is to open eight additional homes, including three homes to open by 2022!
Where do you hope to see Encircle in 10 years?
We envision Encircle homes across the country, supporting every community in need of support. We hope there will never be a LGBTQ+ individual that does not have access to the support and love needed to thrive.
What can we do to be more involved in supporting the LGBTQ+ community?
Come tour any of our three homes in Salt Lake City, Provo, and St. George! The best thing to do is see the positive impact we have on the LGBTQ+ community. We have many ways you can get involved by volunteering. You can also contribute by joining The Community Circle. The Community Circle is an enlightened and courageous group of monthly givers on a mission to ensure all LGBTQ+ youth know they are loved, love themselves, and have hope for a bright future.
